Art Style & Qualifications

I am an enthusiastic visual artist from Puerto Rico, with a rich experience of over 30 years in drawing & painting, 12 years in Art Education and I am a published author/illustrator.

I was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. In 2011 I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Escuela de Artes Plásticas de Puerto Rico attaining a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a minor in Drawing and Painting. After graduating, I began working as an art educator teaching Visual Arts, Art History and STEAM for 12 years. I currently reside in the USA where I continue my career as a Visual Artist.

I’ve spent most of these years working across different areas of design to develop a unique style. I have always been attracted to colors, organic lines/shapes and abstraction. I also love expressionism because in this style of art you can communicate emotions that you may not be able to convey through words. It is also a way to identify and explore the human condition.

I have also worked on murals, printmaking, ceramics, photography and illustrations. Throughout the years I have had the privilege to participate in group exhibitions in Puerto Rico, Orlando and Miami. In 2016 I showcase my painting Coming Through in the Miami Children’s Museum gallery exhibit. I have been published in The Poetry Society book, Claridad newspaper (PR), Primera Hora newspaper (PR), Voyage MIA Magazine, Shoutout Miami Magazine and Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing.

What I do

When it comes to murals and other custom art work I understand the clients requirements, designing a blueprint and deliver the final product. I do everything that falls in between the lines.

Visual Artist

Over the years I have develop a unique style and this has also helped me capture the attention of the audience in order to be able to spread a clear message.

Art Educator

Over 12 years I researched and development my own curriculum covering the Elements of Art, Principles of Design and Art History.

Illustrator/ Author

As an artist I have taken on projects where illustrations where at the center of the artwork. As an author, I wrote poetry published in The Poetry Society Book and my art book Coloring with Purpose: Creative Therapy for the Soul is published in Amazon KDP.

Meet the Artists …
Xiomara and I met 19 years ago at La Escuela de Artes Plásticas de Puerto Rico. We were both studying Drawing and Painting and our love for the arts brought us together, starting a beautiful friendship that has lasted through the years. Art has always been an extension of our souls, and we cannot help but create and be inspired by life and our surroundings. Now, we want to make a coloring book for all ages, so you can also use art as a form of therapy. I wish you lots of joy exploring our Color with Purpose coloring book collaboration.
